Riana earned her Juris Doctorate from Campbell University School of Law in 2003, after graduating magna cum laude from Appalachian State University in 2000, with a B.A. in English, and a minor in Business. Prior to joining Safran Law Offices, Riana clerked for two and half years with North Carolina Court of Appeals Judge Sanford L. Steelman, Jr. Riana is admitted to practice in North Carolina as well as the Federal Court Middle and Eastern Districts. She is also an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association and serves on the Construction Law Section Council.

Riana’s practice includes construction litigation, including lien and bond law and construction defect, labor and employment law, OSHA compliance, immigration compliance, professional licensing compliance, corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, and commercial litigation, and appellate practice.  Riana also represents several industry trade associations as their general counsel. 

Representative clients include: Davidson and Jones Construction Company, Schulz Iron Works, Inc., Stewart Engineering, Inc., Barnes and Powell Electrical Company, Ultra Machine and Fabrication, Inc., Rayfield Investments, Stafford Consulting, Inc., Vertical Walls, Inc., Phillips and Jordan, Inc., and Choate Construction Co.
